Our Story

First Met

December 2009

Scott and Michelle worked together at the Relay Center for the Deaf in Riverbank after they graduated from high school (Michelle from Escalon High in 2004, and Scott from Riverbank High in 2005). However, it wasn’t until 2009, when a mutual friend pointed out that they worked together, that Scott and Michelle introduced themselves to each other and started talking.

First Date

November 12, 2013

A friendship blossomed between them over the next five years. They grew to love each other’s families and friends and were daily parts of each others’ lives. Finally, in November of 2013, Michelle and Scott admitted their true feelings for each other, and have been together, in love, ever since!

Over the past ten years of being together, they have finished college, established their careers, traveled/vacationed extensively, and have created a loving home.

Proposal & Engagement

February 24, 2024

On February 24, 2024, on Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove, California…

Scott asked, and Michelle said, “YES!”

They had actually started planning their wedding around their tenth anniversary of dating. The proposal was the last step for their engagement to become “official.” Scott and Michelle set up a date for engagement photos, and Scott was able to surprise Michelle with her ring. The photos capture her genuine reaction to seeing her ring for the very first time! Some might say this was not the “traditional” way to become engaged, but Scott and Michelle have never been a “traditional” couple, and everything happened exactly as they wanted it to!
